Can anyone help identify the exact viewpoint from which this painting was made? As a starting point, what are the hills in the background? I used to think Hoy but am less sure now. And the identity of the farm in the middle distance...(The slightly odd patches in the image are reflections of me on the glass.) If you have any ideas, please email
The title, An Orkney Landscape, may not be Cursiter's. It appears in a different hand - not Cursiter's - to the rest of the inscription on the label on the back of the painting. I have not removed the painting from the frame.
