TADPOLE DEVELOPMENT

By Week 15 many of the tadpoles had four legs. Early developers were released seriatim and at Week 15 the whole aquarium was placed outside and above a pond. The tank was topped up almost to overflowing. While in the tank the remaining tadpoles were protected from the ravages of predators such as newts in the pond below but once they took the big leap they were at the mercy of mother nature.
