Married Charles COCKING

Birth of daughter Dorothy COCKING

  • Mary Flint (18??-????)

EVELYN:  Mary married Charles Cocking. I never met her. They lived in Vienna, where he was employed in the Austrian part of Krupps' works, but during the 1914-18 war they had to leave Vienna. They were never interned. Dorothy, their only child, was extremely able. She came away before them. She spoke several languages and was an extremely handsome woman. She got a post on The Times newspaper, and there she met her husband, who was one of the Foreign Correspondents. They had one son. Their marriage turned out a failure, and Dorothy's husband asked her for a divorce. When Val Linklater and his wife lived in France, they were very kind to Dorothy. She is probably alive today but we know noting of her nor her son.
